Tummy Tuck & Hernia Repair
Before & After
Case Details
This 36-year-old woman came in asking for a tummy tuck in our Manhattan practice. She was 5 feet 4 inches tall and 121.6 pounds. She also had a small umbilical hernia (belly button hernia). An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) was done at the same time as the hernia was repaired. Her before-and-after photos are shown here. Note that the skin surrounding her belly button has moved and there is a fine tummy scar in the area.
Patient Age: 36

Motivation for Tummy Tuck: Loose tummy skin
Tummy Tuck Technique:
Full abdominoplasty
Hernia repair with tightening of the abdominal muscles

This patient said she felt very tight and could not stand up straight for a few weeks postoperatively. For more information about tummy tuck recovery see my blog post where I have a more complete description and a video demonstrating recovery six months after a tummy tuck.
