Smartlipo™ Liposuction For Men

This is a 33-year-old man who was obviously quite muscular but didn't quite have the overall shape that he wanted. He came into my office requesting liposuction of the abdomen and flanks because he wanted a slimmer waistline.

I like to use the Smartlipo liposuction machine for most of my New York City body contouring cases, and when I mentioned it to him he hesitated for a second to ask about the effects the laser might have on his skin. Being African-American, he had concerns that his skin color might be changed by the laser. Many patients have similar concerns when any number of technologies are used on darker skin. I can only say that being a plastic surgeon in New York City, I treat virtually every color skin under the sun. And so far, I really haven't run into a problem with dark skin changing color after liposuction by any method.

He obviously wanted to proceed, and his before-and-after liposuction photographs are shown here. I think he had a nice change that someone on the beach would not be able to spot as a liposuction effect. He seems pretty happy also.
